About

The primary goal of our partnership with JUSTICE FOR JOPPA/JUSTICIA PARA JOPPA is helping to build neighborhood self-determination. Justice for Joppa is a neighborhood group focused on community empowerment and education. JFJ/JPJ was formed officially in 2023, after the results of the 3 year Joppa Environmental Health Project.

JEHP, was a 3-year Texas A&M research study to find the correlation between industrial adjacency and disproportionate health effects. Our role is to support community efforts towards self determination, by providing organizing support, meeting resources, and career specific knowledge like urban planning and scientific data.  Our goal is to strengthen our resident leaders in Joppa with initiatives that bridge the gap between environmental science and community health.
