Fighting for Your Right to Clean Air in North Texas

DFW is the epicenter of the fight for corporate and government accountability for air pollution. The area has not met clean air standards since 1994 and continues to promote unfettered industrial growth. We demand stricter regulations, corporate accountability, and cleaner air. Your support is crucial.

Toxic Twins Campaign

We are fighting for the removal of two shingle factories in West Dallas and Joppa. For decades, GAF (West Dallas) and TAMKO (Joppa) have been burdening these neighborhoods with emissions from asphalt shingle production. Removing these nonconforming polluters will reduce particulate matter pollution on residents already overburdened by other industrial uses and for the greater Dallas area.

Environmental Justice for Fort Worth

Alongside the Fort Worth Environmental Coalition of Communities, we are fighting to make environmental justice a goal in the city of Fort Worth’s 2050 Comprehensive Land Use Plan. By prioritizing city goals around environmental justice, we believe this can help address environmental issues in low-income and communities of color, including poor road conditions, industrial zoning and pollution.

WHAT WE DO

Our Strategy For a Healthier North Texas

Lasting change requires a multi-faceted approach. We fight for environmental justice by empowering residents, challenging polluters, and demanding accountability from those in power. Our work is built on three pillars: community organizing, relentless advocacy, and accessible education.

Building Power From The Ground Up

We bring neighbors together, transforming shared concern into collective action. Through grassroots organizing, we build powerful, resident-led coalitions that have the strength and unity to stand up to corporate polluters and demand a seat at the table where decisions about our communities are made.

Empowering Through Knowledge

We believe that an informed community is an empowered community. We host workshops, distribute educational materials, and translate complex scientific data into accessible information. By demystifying the science and politics of air pollution, we give residents the tools they need to become effective advocates for their own health.

A Persistent Voice for Justice

We are a constant presence at city halls, regulatory agencies, and the state legislature. Armed with data and the stories of our community, we advocate tirelessly for stronger environmental protections, stricter enforcement of existing laws, and policies that put the health of people over the profits of polluters.

OUR HISTORY

Decades of Unrelenting Advocacy

Our fight for clean air and environmental justice is a marathon, not a sprint. For nearly three decades, we have stood with communities across North Texas, taking on powerful polluters and demanding accountability. Our history is a testament to the power of grassroots organizing and the profound change that is possible when determined people refuse to be ignored.
